Isn't that the essence of religions?

I have found happiness in the teachings of The Buddha. his message was one which is based upon taking responsibility for your own actions, rather than trying to fob off your guidance onto something "other"...
He said that if we look within , we will find that our Spirit is capable of great things (the ultimate being Buddha Nature). While we are on the journey to enlightenment, we can practice the values of tolerance, acceptance, humility, love, compassion and understanding. If we accept these are part of ourselves, we will be able to have them shine forth and this simple action leads to a better life for yourself and everyone else around you!
So far, I've not come across a more peaceful, spiritually fulfilling and downright wholesome belief system! sorry to say this, but it beats the heck outta any Christian faith! I was brought up in the Catholic church, but it just didn't do it for me like Buddhism does!!!
Love and Light,
Jarrah

Sorry. If a person keeps changing his belief base to satisfy their own personal agenda without guidance from God, then he might as well make his own church and supply it's doctrines and teachings. Jesus once said, and it applies today as it did then, my ways are not your ways. So instead of searching out teachings in churches that are convenient to ones beliefs, we ought to be searching out the Church that teaches all truth and then deal with those truths. Truth, by the way, is eternal.
