Sometimes software glitches will cause problems with USB devices, and things like digital cameras may not operate properly. Here's some tips on how to get around and maybe even how to fix the problem.

1. Make sure you camera and fully charged batteries before attempting a transfer.

2. Close down all unnecessary applications and remove any additional USB devices from your system.

3. If you still can't access your photos, look to see if your camera has a removable memory card. If it does, you may be able to copy your photos directly from your memory card via a slot on your computer. If you don't have a slot, you can buy a card reader for about $10 to $20.

4. Try removing and reinstalling your digital camera's software.

5. Contact the manufacturer of your camera with a detailed description. You might have a common problem that can be fixed with a software update to your camera.

I had the same problem, i had to download new updated drivers from my camera maker and reinstalling the software.
if you camera is hooked up to the comp and nothing happens make sure ur computer is reading your camera. go to :
my computer, u should see all your dives and one labled for your camera either kodak or canon. something like that, if it shows up then try clicking on it directly u should be able to access the pics.

if u tried reinstalling the software and it still doesnt work then u could try a card reader, they are inexpensive and will read EVERY type of card out there, this is an external unit u plug into your usb and then plug the card in, photos should down load immediatly.
