He will run around the house sometimes with his "raccoon" tail going. He somehow puffs his tail out. He is a 4 year old neutered male, if this helps.

Hey teddy's, that is exactly what mine does! I just thought he was retarded. So it is normal.

My cat does this too! All he time! It is really cute to watch. Sometimes, when he really gets going, he hits the hardwood floor and slides for 3 or 4 feet or more! He also jumps on our coffee table and then jumps up to touch the ceiling! He is crazy! Everyone told me that he would calm down when I get him fixed, but he is fixed now and is just getting crazier as he discovers what all he can do. There are so many stories I could tell you about what he does, but I won't keep you that long! Enjoy your cat show!

Sometimes cats will do that when they are scared or mad. Mine does that sometimes if he sees a squirrel, dog or other cat in the yard. He is an inside cat and does that when he looks out the window and sees them. His tail also puffs out when he gets scared by something. Sounds like you have a normal cat.

No, it's just normal. We consider our cat free entertainment! It's nuts to see the wild stuff she does when she freaks out, for no reason and starts running around wildly, etc. Ours does the tail thing, too.

That's totally normal.
Mine gets to running so fast she can not stop and ends up running into a wall, then once she hits the floor she looks about as if to say... I meant to do that and begins cleaning herself.

Your cat is very normal. Many cats fluff their fur when they're scared or excited - it's a response that makes them appear bigger and (presumably) more formidable to an enemy - even if the "enemy" is only his own shadow ;-)

This is VERY normal behaviour.
Cat's need to burn off excess energy, and what better way to do that than to run around like crazy.
Usually their tale will bristle, and their pupils will dilate.

Mine does that all the time. What's weird is she'll run into one room, then go at a dead sprint to another room, then back to the first one, and then she'll meow like something is wrong. But when I go in there she's just looking at me like, "..what? o_o"
