U have to eat some food rich with carbohydrates, 2 hours before going to gym, like Spaghetti for example, this will supply u with required energy. During exercise, u can have bananas, to supply u with potassium to prevent muscle cramps, one hour after gym, u can have your ordinary meal.

Depends how serious you are but you should eat before and after.

Reason: Eating before prevents your body from becoming catabolic and breaking down muscle too quickly.

Eating after replenishes fuel so that your body does not continue to fuel off muscle afterwards.

Before (Preworkout meal): complex carbohydrates/slow digesting protein.

whole grains - Oats
lean meats/cassin protein/milk

After: (Postworkout meal): Simple carbohydrates/quick digesting protein.

Juice/milk/whey protein
