Pentacost Sunday, which is celebrated just after Easter. It is so called, because on that day, the Apostles, who had been hiding in a house in Jerusalem for fear of what the jews would do to them, received the Holy Spirit and immediately went outside to preach boldly to all the people there. The church (remember there ware no protestants/Catholics at that time) is said to have been born on that day because more than 3,000 people accepted Christ, whereas up to that time the number was insignificant.

The church is generally believed to have begun when the spirit visited the believers in Jerusalem on Pentacost as described in Acts.
