It all depends on the size of the aviary and the wire mesh that has been used in the construction.
If the mesh is 1" x 1/2" and the wire is 16 g then the wire is suitable for finches, canaries or budgies. If the mesh is larger say 1" x 1" then is would be suitable for parakeets or cockatiels. If the mesh is larger say 2" x 2" then this would be suitable for larger birds like parrots.
All these birds are suitable for a partial outdoor aviary in the UK if they are acclimatised properly.
Take professional advice about which sorts of birds can live together, ie. never mix lovebirds with other species.
I keep budgies and cockatiels together in an outdoor aviary outside my store and they do very well even in the coldest weather. Give me a call at the store when you need advice or care sheets are available free on my web site
