After a workout (ie. jogging) your body becomes catabolic and begins to break down your fat and muscle tissue for fuel. If you do not fuel your body quickly it will begin breaking down muscle. In order to prevent your body from breaking down hard earned muscle you should ingest simple carbohydrates after exercising. Fruit juice is actually a good alternative because it usually consists of High fructos corn syrup which will digest quickly to fuel your body. This is the only time I would suggest drinking juice because generally it is not as healthy as eating fruits/vegetables themselves.

You may also eat/drink a workout meal during your exercise to help slow the affects of catabolism and increase anabolism.

So in actuality it does matter what you drink after a exercise program, drinking water will rehydrate you but not replenish fuel. Usually bodybuilders ingest whey protein (because it digests quickly and contains protein) after workouts/cardio.

So basically anything low on the glycemic index (quickly digests) is good to go.

It's actually probably better to drink the water after the juice, that way it washes off whatever acid may have been put on your teeth by the juice.

Juice won't be as rehydrating as water, either, but it's still a liquid and it has some nutrients that will help you out.

When you finish most probably you will be hot and sweating. Do not drink anything immediately especially ice cold or very cold. Wait for a few minutes and you may have drink after either will do.
I would suggest you have a quick warm rinse before. You will be more comfortable.

It doesn't matter what you drink, but drink something before you get dehydrated. What you drink doesn't make the slightest difference ☻
