You phone is ringing like that because there are EVIL people who can read your mind and know when you are in the bath or otherwise going to be delayed.
If you put on an answering machine they will know before they call, and as such, won't bother again!
A side note when doing my uni reading and writing I often shut off my wireless phone. The house phone I often simply turn off the ringer. When people start talking then I answer if it is a mate. Works the charm!

it may b because;
- u hear the phone ring late
- the ringer is in hurry and cuts phone after 3 bells
- probably u have only one phone and u have big house or office
- someone wants to annoy u
- someone playing with u
- u might b doing some thing that u cannot leave immediately and at the same time phone rings (in bathroom, or in kitchen etc)
- or may b u dont want to pick the phone ;)...running from boss ;)
how to rectify
there is one very handy solution is, to keep cordless with u. so that u can put it in ur pocket. and answer immediately whenever it rings.

Wonderful things we can do with phones these days. Do like I do... program your phone. Most phones or services allow you to set how many rings you want before your voice mail or recorder picks up. I let most everyone I've given my number to that if I have not picked up by the 3rd ring... just leave a message and a number for me to call them back... works great... the only calls I miss are the ones I didn't really want to take.

For the same reason that the bus pulls away just as you get to the stop... The Traffic warden slaps on your ticket just as you get back to the car, the shop shuts just as you get to the door

its probably one of those most annoying things in the world that happens. Mine always used to ring when I was in the bath...then I got a portable one..trouble is I then promptley dropped in the water...luckly without electricuting myself!!

maybe you should speed up. maybe you wait till it stops ringing while hoovering your hand over it just so you can ask the question. who knows. just another of life's little mysteries!
