YES, eventually ...
In the meantime most Windows XP users will stay with XP..
Remember " IF ITS NOT BROKE DON'T FIX IT !"
If you don't have a direct and immediate need or use for VISTA then stay with XP..
Users upgrading from an earlier or other OS... should and probably will go to VISTA...
All new computers delivered by DELL, Gateway, HP, COMPAQ, Toshiba, etc.. will be on VISTA...
As the numbers of VISTA computers increases, and software requiring VISTA is delivered ... more and more users will be forced to VISTA ...
Only then will Vista earn its REPUTATION .. be it GOOD or BAD

Just wait and see.
I remember about when windows 95 released. The most of bugs were fixed around the year 1997, two years after windows 95 released.
Now about windows vista, this operating system not ready for prime time. They require the latest hardware to run smoothly. Within two or three years from now, maybe we will a lot of people running vista on their computer, or maybe something else not windows.
I myself a windows power user. But from the year 2006 I start learning linux as alternative OS. And honestly, I am ready for other operating system, and linux is ready be my PC's operating system. The one thing makes linux not ready come from outside linux. Software developers, such as adobe, or EA sports, etc, they not build applications for linux.
Once again,
Just Wait and See.
