Hmm...as a Biblical Christian (one of those "fundie Xians" everyone is talking about) I would say there is a fundamental difference between a raffle done for charity and a gambling ticket (like a lotto ticket).
With the lotto ticket you are capitalizing on the losses of others, if you win, and if you lose, you are at the very least not trusting God to provide for your needs.
In the raffle, the money you pay up front is going to charity, NOT to other players, everyone knows this going in. The prizes done in raffles are generally donated ones and act only as an "incentive" to buy more raffle tickets. So in that sense you are not actually buying the raffle ticket in the hope of getting the prize, you are buying the raffle ticket to support the charity and if you get a prize it is a bonus.
It's matter of where your heart is, ultimately.

So in short I would say no, a raffle done for charity is not gambling.

They use the same verbage. That's as close to Christianity as they come. Unfortunately, they have changed the definition of those shared words to fit their own favorite way of thinking. Well, Smith changed the definition of words, anyway. Mormonism was created as the cradle to hold his pet church, after all. Biblical Christian belief = Jesus Christ; with the Father since eternity, as eternally divine. Mormon belief = "Jesus Christ", created at some point as the first spirit child by the earth's own mormon god and his wife through physical sex; not eternal, had to earn his divinity (not unlike they assume they must). So, if all mormons are Christian, then all Christians are... mormon? We know this isn't true, because most biblically-based Christians understand the difference between LDS lies and biblical truth. I truly feel so very sorry for mormons. They don't know what true freedom in Christ really means, nor depending upon God alone for everything in life, let alone how these truths can change their lives. Their religion offers them an alternate poor tradition that to be a "good" person is the best they can hope for. Isn't that what all dogs want out of life, too? Alas. There is so much more to deeper spiritual life than being "good".

Of course raffle tickets are gambling. Anyone who understands the definition of gambling knows that.

Some people do! but jesus warned us against the leaven of the pharisees and also told us to take the speck of dust out of our own eye before we take the beam from someone else.
Jesus also warned us about making MOLE hills into mountains.

Hey! i wonder if there are MOLES in the middle east Jerusalem area.?
