I only ask this because a large portion of major issues facing the US are already being in part decided because of religion.
EG Gay marrige, Stem cell research, etc

There is no law requiring the separation of Church and State. The law is freedom of religion. It is part of the Constitution of the United States and it should not be abolished. Only an idiot would suggest such a thing. You Christians are protected by this law. If it was so easy to abolish any law replacing it would be just as useless.

Many of our laws are based on the Bible, and this is a Free Christian nation, at over 81% Christian majority. All religions are free to believe and worship as they choose, thats the beauty of this free nation, but don't mistake that with it not being primarily Christian. It is, and thats not gonna change anytime soon.
I have relatives that have fought and shed blood so that all could worship as they wish,
but if anyone does not like the Christian majority, it is certainly also their right to move to another more fair Nation.

I personally don't think that's a good idea. There should be a seperation between state and religion...although I've never lived in a country with religion being the basis of laws, I would imagine that there would be some difficulties.

In a democracy, people are allowed to vote and are allowed to be guided by their values.People voting against stem cell research, abortion and homosexuality are perfectly within their rights do so,and 'being offended' because '50% of the population don't believe in the Bible' will not make difference.Perhaps you would be more comfortable in an atheistic dictatorship, where no one has a voice?

Absolutely not, any kind of theocracy, whether Christian, Turkish (Muslim) or even Atheist in some way, is extremely dangerous. Even the best system of religion can be corrupted when people are in a position of power. Religion can survive the best when it is left freely to the people. Government establishment only hinders and corrupts the name of religion.

I'm not willing to give up non-biblical laws such as stopping at a red light.
