May be maybe not.India's economic boom may help the poor if those who are in power at that time think about the others rather than about themselves. If used in the right way india's boom may benefit everybody.
The government has the rights and policies to tackle poverty ,isn't it mentioned in our constitution under the directive princilpes of state policy that the government should try to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor?
If the government has the intention of tackling this problem then there's nobody on earth who can prevent them.India can and will eradicate poverty.

NO. Because only the rich are getting richer by the day, and the poor, poorer. The economic boom is only helping those who are qualified in the IT sector and so no one else.
To cut the inflation the interest rates are hiked, so the
farmers are unable to repay the loans.
If the interest rates are hiked there will be unemployment and the people will not be able to get jobs.
This will again lead to poverty in turn.

Well, I actually did my my dissertation on US foreign policy and China's rising superpower status. What I discovered was that USA is not afraid of India's rising superpower status but only that of China. China's rising superpower status is seen as a direct threat to the USA whereas India's rising superpower status is seen as a direct asset which can balance China. There are several reasons for this: The international relations theory (known as "realism", "power politics" and realpolitik") dictate that rising powers are always a threat to the established hegemon and that changing balances of power always bring warfare with them. The USA believes that China will soon be tempted to resort to change the global balance of power in its favour eventually. There is another theory called "Democratic Peace Theory" which states that democracies hardly ever go to war with democracies, but that democracies and dictatorships will always be on a collision course. This is why India (being a secular democracy) is seen as being a natural ally against China. The US intelligence agencies have clear evidence that China is deliberately building its military and because the increase in its military spending is seen as incommensurate with its rising economy, it can only be concluded that this is for offensive purposes. There are many flashpoints, such as Tawian, North Korea etc where China and the USA will be pitched at opposing sides. Also relevant is the question of Israel. The reason that Israel has always been victorious in the arab-Israeli conflict is because Russia (the supporter of the Arabs) was never able to give the same level of military aid as the USA (the supporter of Israel) was able to. However, imagine when China becomes the superpower and if the Arab states renew their declaration of war against Israel??? China will be able to far surpass the level (both quality and quantity) of aid that the USA can give. China has always been a natural ally of the Arab states. So in response to your question, the USA is afraid of China's booming economy because the USA will only lose out. So too, will India.

India's economy is surely going to boom... but it won't help the poor without any effort. Helping the poor means to give them work so that they can afford atleast one meal in a day. But who will give work to an illiterate person. So, to help the poor India's economy first has to concentrate on the education of the poor, after all they are the voice of India.

india's economic boom is a miracle, yet we aren't able to help the poor in the country. this can only be possible if each constituency's representative is given a certain amount of money through which the poor of that area can be helped and thay should also be given jobs so gthat even they can take part in the economic boom in india.

i believe no because no one is concern even our leaders.i believe that a change can be there if there is unity in nation but if our leaders are fighting among themselves how can one remove poverty.
government does not have right policies .rich people are becoming richer whereas poor people are starving.i have witnessed some scenes which clearly justify my answer.i saw a boy and a dog eating from the same din.the people who are standing for elections are having criminal records.there are many villages where no one is educated .from my point of view education is one power by which one can remove poverty .

Yes. It will help the poor by one reason that if the people who are engaged in business should help them by providing them with proper shelter and health requirements. If the business men and the rich people help them then I surely think that the poverty in India will come to an end.

The so-called economy boom will widen the gap between the poor and the rich. There will only be two classes - one earning 1500 and less a month and another 50000 and higher a month. Middle class segment people will be devided into these two. Survival of the fittest is the rule of nature !
