my boyfriend lives in Miami, USA... we have managed to have a long distance relationship for nearly 2 years now, so yes, it can work ! u really need to trust each other though, and having an Internet connection helps. we sit & chat online to eachother for at least an hour every day, and also send e-mails and call eachother on the phone.... i guess it all depends on how much u love and trust eachother, and how much u want a future together with that person.

Yes, it is worthwhile.
If you love each other enough and there is trust in your
relationship, it will be worthwhile. As the proverb says
"distance makes the heart founder".

Depends how you value relationships. Though long distance may allow each partner to have space and time to ruminate to themselves it doesn't characterize real life settings. When your married one day you will be living with that person, and if you've never experienced a short-distance relationship (where you see your partner often) you may not know how to handle this.
Unless of course your partner is temporarily away you will not receive ample time to discover the person you're with. Though the passion/romance may be strong at first, it may quickly die if you never get to see them.

Well if they are to remain only long distance, not really. Frustration comes quickly. However, if there is a hope for one of the two to be moving closer, definitely yes. I did move and I am very happy!

YES!!!!!!
before my husband and i got married we were long distance - he is canadian and i am from northern ireland
it took work but it was worth it because we both wanted it to work and both love each other
it is harder to be in a long distance relationship - you both need to make an effort to call each other and you both need to be prepared to travel to be with each other as often as you can but it is worth it
and now we are happily married and no longer long distance - yay!
so i say yes they are worth it

No, they are very hard to sustain for more than a year unless you are seeing each other every month at least and have a goal to be together at a set date

I would not do it. A person does get lonley without the one that they love around them. And then temptation just happend to walk into the door... and the little voice that says it's wrong walks out the back door... Even if you do trust each other... Out of mind, out of heart

Yes they are especially good when you do not want to commit to a marriage or stay together. It is good to have your independence but still stay true to one another. This kind of relationship is called "LATS. It means living apart together separate.
