Suppose you want to cook an egg for exactly 3 minutes. You have only a 5 minute hourglass timer and a 2 minute hourglass timer. Using these 2 timers, how can you boil the egg for exactly 3 minutes?

well..1stly, tip both timers over at da same time when da 2 minutes timer runs out, drop da eggs in & cook 'em till da 5 minutes timer runs out!!! eh???

Start timers at he same time. When the first timer stops, start the egg and boil it until the second timer stops which will be three minutes later.

first emtpy the 2minute hour glass timer. then pour some sand from the 5 minute hour glass timer into the empty 2 minture hour glass timer. that should leave 3 minutes worth of sand in the 5 minute hour glass timer. you can now start cooking your egg

turn them both upside down when the 2minute one is empty there will be 3 minutes left in the 5 minute timer to cook your egg
