I recently quit smoking pot. I have smoked it for 15 years, the last 10 can be considered extremely heavy use. Since I stopped, I have absolutely no appitite, sometimes going more than a 24 hours without eating. I'm not sure that I'm able to recognize what it feels like to be truly hungry anymore. The thought of eating anything is borderline nausiating. But that's just my fist problem, next is my newly aquired insomnia. I can barely sleep. For example, It's 2:41 am right now, I should be in bed. My lack nutrition and sleep in starting to affect my job. Funny, I never thought stopping a drug habit would lead to a decline in my work performance. I don't want to take any form of sleep aids either, for two reasons, 1: another habit will ensue; 2: I know this might sound strange from a habitual marijauna smoker, but i don't like taking drugs or pills or anything like that. never have, never will. (pot doesn't count (to me). So if you managed to actually read all of this, I need your help.

first of all, congrats on quitting. quitting ANYTHING is a long and hard process, and right now you're experiencing the crappiest part of quitting. sounds like withdrawels to me. your body became so dependent on pot that it cant get back on track now that you've stopped smoking. if you're not eatin much, you need to be drinking lots and LOTS of water. Keep your body hydrated or you're going to be feeling even worse and could potentially end up in the hospital. I cant say that I've ever experienced withdrawels from anything, so the best advice i can give is to google some natural remedies for pot withdrawels. you'll find something, trust me. just remember, its mind over matter. you'll get through this, just keep moving forward. i'm sorry i couldn't be more of a help. good luck

The two you mentioned and headaches are the most common problems with marijuana "withdrawal". Short of smoking again, the only thing you can do is wait it out. You will get your appetite back in a few weeks, but it might take a while to get back to a normal sleep pattern. Don't use sleeping pills, that will make it worse. Plus they give you nightmares.

Side effects of quitting marijauna and similar weeds are terrible. I was an marijauna addict. I started coughing up stuff from my lungs. It wasn't very nice, but the docter told me it was normal. My lungs were getting rid of the crap from the nicotine!

To close down the side effects and for a proper guidance, I followed these guys at http://QuitMarijauna.DrHealthExpert.com and WOW, the entire process went super smoothly and finally I have got rid of this addiction of mine.

I am super happy now. You too can follow the same path my mate.. Best Luck

I commend you for quitting.. and I'm surprised you're able to do it on your own since your body is so dependent on it. It's clearly having trouble surviving without it. I would honestly check with a doctor or substance abuse center to see what they do for recovering addicts. They are the ones that know how your body is responding and will help you with a nutrition guide. I think most of it is waiting it out though. Your body has to clear it out of its system and get used to not being dependent on the drug.

Try exercising. Cures both problems. Builds up an apetite and helps you to get to sleep.
