I detest the fact that the government compels us to pay taxes and does NOT offer us interest on what has been returned after the government has had the free use of it for a year.

In fact, I strongly object to Withholding Tax in the first place. A better tactic would be for the government to bill us for all federal taxes at the end of the year: if people were forced to see how much is being demanded of us, I'll bet there would be some eyes opened!

To answer your question, I will be going to Scotland to visit family for the first time since I emigrated 5 1/2 years ago. I do taxes for a living and I am already counting down to April 18th. (Be interesting to see how many people work that one out!)
