just relax stress is only going to make it worst. you shouldn't have used any sprays and wait for it to heal by itself sometimes humans are so impatient and don't let nature take its course. well try seeing another doctor or a specialist don't get opinion from only one doctor they are idiots who love to scare the daylights out of you. it would probably heal. tissues in the nose can heal fast make sure you don't try spraying any other crap in Ur nose anymore!! its a sensitive area!

I doubt that the damage was done by Otrivin. It is mainly a saline solution. there must be other factors involved here.
The smell centre is actually in the brain and within the sinuses not the nose. Otrivin would not have penetrated this deeply
The nose is the passage that transports the air over the turbinate bones to a membrane in the sinus area that is responsible for aroma detection and then sends electrical impulses to the brain.

Hi Stan, Sorry to hear you have damaged the inside of your nose. What i smell is a big law suit on the makers of Otrivin spray. See a lawyer, and you at least will feel a little better. A Friend.

Just wait and see....you may still have inflamed tissues around and you have to relax and dont start to pick your nose or it will only cause another damage. It may take a few days for your normal sense of smell to return. Soon you will be smelling the roses again.

I was gassed at a chemical plant in 1999, I lost my sense of smell for 3 months. The plant doctor gave me a prescription for Flonase(tm) which I took for 1 month. My sense of smell returned after taking it but it is not the same as it was.
