Because cats are picky.

Besides, Junk food as Whiskers is crammed with fat and vegetable protein ( cats are carnivores, not rabbits) and animal derivatives (the left over stuff of animals after they are being slaughtered) in stead of meat products. My cat gained a lot of weight, her fur turned dull and she didnt have any energy. Now she is back to her "old" food and is her happy self again.

The price does not necessarily reflect the quality of the product.

So maybe that food you are giving is just good for them, especially since they are helahty and in good condition.

Just have a look at the ingredient list. If the fat content is less than 20gr, if the first ingredient says "meat / animal products", and if in contains a good amount of crude ash: Wtach the salt, but then again: Whiskers is crammed with salt as well.

Have you tried Merrick wet food? It's the only wet food my 15 year old cat will eat. It has great flavors like Thanksgiving Day Dinner and Grammie's Pot Pie. You might also look up raw food diets. I believe there is a "supplement" powder you can add to raw food that will give a cat all the nutrients it needs. This is very important since human food does not have tuarine which cat's need or they will go blind. If you can mix the human food with this supplement (you might have to grind it up in a food processer or chop it really fine so it will mix together), your cat might be ok on this diet for a while. There's no reason your cat needs to be on a dry food diet at all, ever. This can cause health problems like Chronic Renal Failure and urinary crystals. I've had to deal with both. I'm slowly getting rid of the dry food and moving on to wet food only and my cats are healthier now than ever. I would suggest calling to ask your vet before trying this but I don't think it would be a problem or I wouldn't suggest it.

Cats are VERY fussy eaters. There must be something about this food that they like.

Be prepared though for them to go off this food when they get tired of it and when they start demanding better quality stuff.

It may be worth a visit to your vet to ask if there is any kind of dry supplement you can give them. Then consider leaving saucers of dry food beside their water bowls instead of the usual food. The cats will not go hungry and will eventually eat the dry food and you know that they are getting the right amount of vitamins.

I know, I've done that with my cat.

Do not worry honest Dogs have owners Cats have servents is a good and true saying.
My cat will only eat one type of food and is sick if I try and change it so i just buy a few really good buscuits for her and add those sometimes she eats sometimes she does not.
Cat are creatures of habit and hate change if really worried the vet may be able to recommend a vitamin to put in it but if they are healthy have a good coat let them eat their cheap meat. Mine will only eat meat in gravy!!

Don't moan about it squire!

It's great that they like cheap food, maybe your cats are pikeys, just like human beings there is a class to the tastes in food. Fresh chicken with basil and tomato sauce for normal hard working people and Mcdonalds for the pikeys.

Your lucky! My two cats only eat one type of food in one flavour and is one of the most expensive cat foods too. Also, it is not available at my local shops so i always have to go to the supermarket to get it (i dont drive). But they are worth it, they keep me happy, so i do the same for them. Let them eat what they want to and try not to worry about it as it is nothing to worry about.

I am going through exactly the same thing!!
But I'm not going to look at is as a problem. Will cost me less money. And they are both very healthy, so there is nothing to worry about.

I try to mix a few "good" biscuits in with their food to help their teeth and give extra vitamins. So maybe try that.

Cats are very odd creatures. Very contrary!
I think that is why!

Most cats are finicky. So, if they like the cheap cat food, give it to them. It is not a good idea to try and feed them people food. My cats love the Whiska cat treats.
