Hi,
I am guy of height 5 feet and9 inches . My fiance is also 5feet.9inches tall Sometimes with her hair tied up she looks quite taller than me and I feel awkward about that.
I come from India and most girls in India are not taller than 5.5 and the guys are always taller than their girls.
So i feel awkard with a fiance as tall as i am ...
Its a social , cultural thing and since we dont have many tall women around unlike in the US and Europe, i feel a little awkward
Even a 1 inch heel will make us look awkward as a couple since she will look slightly taller.
Is it a problem looking at a couple who are the same height?
Should i let her wear heels and look 3-4 inches taller than me if she wants to wear the big heels?
Is it better to have a fiance/wife who is not the same height as me?
Let me know your thoughts. Has anyone faced this socially in india?or any other countries where there arent many tall women around?

There shouldn't be any problems with this. If you like her and love her, height has no role in it at all. Forget about what people have to say or you might look an awkward couple!!! Same height couples are infact common and not a rarity. One of my close friends is the same height as his wife may be around 5.8; but they are happily married and make a great pair!!
Remove your inhibitions and go ahead... Marry her and make your life - GREAT!!!!

I think the problem is only in your imagination, and I don't think that as you walk together on the street everybody will look at you and think she's an inch ot two taller than you. I have many friends from Europe and US and sometimes the girl is 3-4 inches taller than the boy, but they still look cute and they're a lovely couple!!
Don't pay any attention if someone says anything about it.
Love is all that matters!!

3-4 Inches is not very important.
Even if someone says something believe me they are jealous.

If this keeps bothering you, just ask her if she could stick to 1 inch shoes and you can get shoes also that have 1 inch heels.

If you lov some one ...then does it really matter what people have to say about ur height or how u look as couple????
well i dont think so ....I think that you shld not even think about changing your fiancee.....IF u talk about INdian culture,,,,,then Indian culture doesnt allow u to leave ur fiancee also like this.....
So dont mould culture according to your own interest......now Indian culture is not so closed as u think..................
Go out and see the World has changed and so has India....

most men prefer a much shorter woman. but.. a woman like yours should be ok for you. dont worry too much about height. just ask her not to try to look so tall when going out together.she will understand just fine.

ur finacne have amazing height...
doesnt matter...both of having same height...i am also from india...there is so many couples having too much differnts in there height...

Dont feel awkward.your height is the same.you both will look good.This is a very common thing everywhere.
