There's nothing in the way when you're standing. If your sitting on the couch you have the back of the couch to squeeze your arm through. Plus hugging is like a goodbye/hello thing too.

maybe he wants to feel all of you in his arms you know when you sit on a couch and get a half hug its not the same nice but not the same. so he wishes to stand up and give you a real bear hug or a tight hug or just hold you for a minute or to and really feel your love and him you. Be flattered he wants to really feel the love in the hug he gives you. better than a wishy washy half *** hug you'd give a stranger.

Anyone in any relationship can do it standing and it has more power, more sensitivity, a greater sense of safety, and a more embracing sense of the moment. As one of the two things that a woman wants, I find it strange that you inquire of your boyfriend why he likes (as he should) to hug you while you are standing. The horizontal activities will take care of themselves.

Well how else are you supposed to hug? If you do it sitting or lying down, then more than a hug should come out of it!
