Girlfriend same height as me !!? - problem?

Hi,

I am guy of height 5 feet and9 inches . My fiance is also 5feet.9inches tall Sometimes with her hair tied up she looks quite taller than me and I feel awkward about that. Even a 1 inch heel will make us look awkward as a couple since she will look slightly taller.

Is it a problem looking at a couple who are the same height?

Should i let her wear heels and look 3-4 inches taller than me if she wants to wear the big heels?

Is it better to have a fiance/wife who is not the same height as me?

I feel a little inferior and awkward.

Let me know your opinions.

I like to go slow dancing, and i sometimes find it difficult and awkward if the girl is taller than the guy with her heels. Should i feel bad abt it?

The reason i feel awkward is this - I come from India and most girls in India are not taller than 5.5 and the guys are always taller than their girls.

So i feel awkard with a fiance as tall as i am ...

Its a social , cultural thing and since we dont have many tall women around unlike in the US and Europe, i feel a little awkward.

Dude...don't feel insecure...look at it this way...you HAVE a fiance!!!...you have someone in your life who loves you enough to marry you!!!....don't worry bro...plus ballers date tall girls...supermodels are all tall, so would any man on earth turn a Victoria Secret model down because she is very tall? I don't think so!!...plus your kids will be six-footers!!!...good luck dude...something as trivial as height should mean nothing when it comes down to it...

I say you should embrace your girl's height and learn to feel proud of her, not bad about yourself. If she's already agreed to marry you, then she doesn't care if she looks taller than you. Nobody else worth knowing wouldn't care either. You are not inferior because of your height. You're a lucky guy with a lot of woman to make love to.

Dancing may feel awkward for awhile, so tell her to wear her highest heels so you can bury your head in her wonderful 5' 9" cleavage if it really starts to bother you. Hey, if she's got the right top on you could give her some intimate kisses while in the middle of the dance floor. And then when you get home, height won't matter b/c you'll be dancing horizontal.

Really, there's no stigma to a difference in height, so I would jus put that behind you and keep her in front of you.

What is your problem?!
Are your STUPID?
Do you care at all about her? If so, why are you complaining about her height? If you are so shallow and vain, you don't deserve a relationship.
You should think very carefully which is more important to you, because as soon as she hears about this, she will probably use that extra height to kick you extra hard in the nuts.

I know that this sounds really cruel, but you deserve it. If this letter wakes you up, then I have done you a favor. If you don't like what I have to say, than you will soon find out how pissed off a woman gets when you tell her you are a vain, sexist pig.

Only if she cares. I'm guessing it's mostly a pride thing/you're afraid of looking awkward in social situations. If it's not a problem for her, why bother?

Plus, what are you going to do? If you feel uncomfortable about it and someone mentions it, just joke about it. If you make it a serious issue, it will become one.

It's almost worse to make her not wear the heels. Then you're making it a big deal. I say just let it go.

It's natural to feel awkward-most people (guys and girls) are used to the guy being taller. It's not "better" one way or the other-the important thing is that you still love each other regardless.

And I can sympathise-the guy I love is 5'7" (same as me), and if I wear heels in any way, shape, or form I'm taller than him... we just laugh it off though, I poke fun at him or he teases me about it and it's all good :)

Hey man--what difference does it make and who do you think actually cares about who you are with--stand tall and be proud that you found a girl to love you and be proud of yourself for who you are--it's all in the attitude---act awkward and inferior and you will be awkward and inferior. I feel that you need to get over it. People do not look at people that way.It is your problem not her's. You have tp marry her the way she is not change her.
