dude.. adam weis said somethin to the effect of masonry being a 'farm club'; depending on ones morals/whatnot you're recruited for various tasks.. those who are 'good guys' keep rising through the levels & never learn. i've talked to enough masons to know that the newbs are greatly mocked. g = generative principle; think mayday.. baal's fire. (origional Wicker Man).
it's nice to see a good guy... : ) research!

The best way to find out about Freemasons is to ask one. We are more than happy to answer any questions that people may have about our fraternity. Unfortunately, too many people just accept rumors that they hear about us. Some say that we rule the world, or that we worship Satan, or that we start wars. Those are all ridiculous. Since we have no main governing body, it would be impossible to rule the world. There are so many different members with different political and religious views, and we do not discuss either politics or religion in our meetings.

There are a number of websites out there that explain what we are about. Wikipedia is a good start, and you should also read any number of Freemason websites. Here is a list of some:
http://web.mit.edu/dryfoo/Masonry/
http://www.masonicinfo.com/primer.htm
http://www.massfreemasonry.org/

and the link to my lodge's website:

Feel free to contact me with questions.

joining would be the best way to find out answers. Or go to a grand lodge web site for your state. Mostly on line you will just find dumb B.S about masonry being evil.
I am a Mason email me i will answer any questions you may have. There are very few secrets we have.
F.W.I if you are researching and the web page talks about different things involving Mason a "higher" levels that should be your first sign the web site or book is lying. ALL MASONS ARE EQUAL THERE IS NO HIGHER LEVELS. It is one of the most important lessons taught a a lodge. When you here people talk about degrees with higher numbers and try to make sound important they are exaggerating. It takes 3 days of watching plays to go from the 3 degree to the 32. It does not mean you are more of a Mason. Anyone who is a Mason can do this. Also Masons do not reciurt it is against the rules. The all seeing eye is used by Masons but did not start with us. It has no secret evil meaning
