Health care workers are required to have a HepB vaccine. They also generally get a flu shot. They take extra precautions to avoid needle sticks and exposure to blood borne pathogens. They take precautions to avoid getting colds and flu like washing their hands and wearing personal protective gear and using hand santitizer. And if they are exposed to a contagious patient and start developing symptoms, they can get treated at work and be better the next day.
And they know better than to work around people if they are sick or running a fever.

doctors get sick too...
when you are sick, you are supposed to stay at home. This is why you don't see sick doctors in the ER. They know best that they can not take at chance at getting a patient, who could possibly have a compromised immune system, sick.

Because they stay home when they're sick. It'd be bad practice for a doctor to come into the hosptital while he/she is sick. You're supposed to make patients feel better, not worse.

Doctors do get sick, but their spiritual gifting is that of healing other people so that gift is focussed so much on giving that you might never hear about them being in the emergency room.
I'm not sure if you are into Christ or not, but that is where that gifting comes from, the Holy Spirit. This gifting is all about giving relief, healing, life to patients that they seldom worry about themselves.
I'm not sure if you have ever volunteered your time with a non profit agency before, but let me tell you, you will not even wonder if you get a lunch break if you are serving food to people who are starving. You will not wonder if you will get compensated if you are giving yourself to people who just need someone to talk to. You will not wonder if you get sick by helping those who are sick and can't even get out of bed to wash their hair. It's life changing and something that you should experience in order to feel God's Holy Spirit really working.

They have been exposed to so much, they have a strong immune system. And if they do get sick, they don't come to work so you don't see them.
