There is a possibility that you could have diabetes and you should be checked out. Another thing is if you are using a lot of salt ( get off the iodized salt and you can buy Sea Salt, which is healthier for you and you do not use as much)or eating spicy foods, that definately makes you thirsty, or if you drink a lot of alcohol, coffee, or tea. When you eat or drink caffeine, you need to drink 2 glasses of water to make up for the water intake, as caffeine dehydrates you.
I am sure you are dehydrated and need to drink at least half your body weight in ounces. Ex. If you weigh 200 lbs. you divide your weight by 2 = 100 ounces, divide by 8 (glass measurement)= 12.4 ounces of water a day. So you could round that off to 13 glasses of water a day. You can space it out through out the day. We definately need to be flushed out. If you want to know more email me with your situation to ptlesther06@shaw.ca and put unquenchable thirst as the subject

Dont be embarrassed. Im sure anyone who is a doctor would be much happier to tell someone they are completely healthy then to tell them they have Diabetes. And anyway, no matter what the diagnosis they get payed, so what do they care?

On a more serious note, it is not normal to be that thirsty. It could be a sign of diabetes, but it could also be a sign of something even more serious like cancer. Go to a doctor before it gets worse. And dont be embarrassed. That is what doctors are for.

I hate going to the doctor too, so your not the only one. However I would go to the doctor to see what (or if anything) is going on. My mom is a type 1 diabetic and she said before she was diagnosed she was always so thristy. So you should get tested. However it could just mean that you eat foods with way too much salt, cause that could be causing this and all you would have to do is not eat as much salt, I know its hard salt makes everything taste better. But yeah I would do one of those things. Good Luck to you.

Sounds very much like you may be developing diabetes. Go to your doctor ASAP and get tested for diabetes. If this is what you have, damage is being done to your organs every minute that you waste worrying about feeling stupid. This is not normal and needs to be addressed before you end up blind, with a heart attack, or kidney or liver failure, etc. Also, stay away from candy and high sugar content foods as much as possible until you can get tested to try to minimize the damage that may be occurring. Good luck to you.

This is a sign of diabetes. It can be checked with a simple blood test. 3 main signs of diabetes are increased hunger, increased thirst and increased urination. Blood sugar level should be 60-100. a fasting blood sugar of 126 or greater needs further work up. If you know someone with an accucheck machine, use that.

Your body only absorbs 6 to 8 oz. in 15 min.

So I drink 1/2 a bottle of water and wait 15 to 30 min then drink the rest.
Later on I grab another bottle and do the same.
I drink about 2 to 4 bottles a day. ( I really should be having 4 )

Well sometimes that could also be that u are dehydrated. In some cases when you eat salty things, that can make you thirsty as well. But the best solution is to get checked no matter what, its better to be told that u ain't got nothing, than to have something and not know about it.

Do you know a diabetic who could check your blood sugar for you when you are extremely thirsty? It also wouldn't hurt to see a doctor. It's better to know for sure what's going on. If you are a diabetic you don't want to pass out somewhere.

hey me too!

maybe you should try drinking water lots of times during the day instead of one massive drink per day.... you're not a camel, so don't try drinking a couple of litres/ galons all at once.

about the diabetes, i'd only be worried about that if you are quite overweight, or if you eat alot of sugary stuff. if other people in your family or your immediate relations have diabetes then that is more reason for you to go to the doctor

But i'd try drinking 1 liter (1 quart) of water per day at least spread out over the day.
