I and my wife love train trips and are thinking of doing something similar in India. We were told that Palace-on-Wheels is a good bet. Has anyone taken this train? What are your impressions? Thanks in advance

For palace on wheels you will have to do the reservation in Dollars.

But I would not recommend spending so much money on so little time.

I would suggest booking a AC Coupe where you & ur wife will have the privacy as in a room. It would be worth the money especially on a long route.

A trip to Goa on the Konkan Railway in AC coupe would be Ideal - not too long & not too short.

Palace-on-Wheels is a good bet but it may be costly to many people and you need to book atleast 1 year in advance to get a ticket on it.(some times its booked fully 3 years in advance).
so now you know how much famous is this train.

Double occupancy rate for single person is 2065.00$ in off season and 2695.00 in peak season (Per Person)
