You must not pick a religion, the religion picks you. Your inner self will have its own belief.
For example not all Christians have the same beliefs,
Not all Atheists believe the same.
All Buddhists have different views
etc etc etc.
The only religion that is right for you is the one you are happiest with in yourself. As it is not a certain religion that counts but your own personal belief. You can believe whatever you wish, it is your choice. You can have beliefs which utilise different aspects of the many religions it is up to you.
Most religions are geared to a type of brainwashing tactic which keeps you to their ideaology. However, you should only pay attention to your inner thoughts and ideas and not be converted by others.
Always remember this. It is not the Religion, but YOU that counts and nothing more or less.
Hope you find your inner belief.

This is a good question... the only answer lies within you! You will have to study and research many different religions, and then narrow them down to what suits your beliefs... ideas and also what feels right to you! Then the best thing is to open your mind and heart... pray about your feelings and find the answer! You will know... just by how you feel inside, you will either have a good feeling about something... or you will have a forgetfulness! Just be sure to be open to learning about all religions, ask questions to those who are in leadership positions, there are many out there who will want you to convert to their church... but only you will know what is best for you... don't be led into a faith by pressure... that is not the way it should work! I hope you find what you are looking for... best wishes to you!

Here's some serious choices you could make:
Islam - Islam have some rules and a lot of don'ts, mainly it's because this religion is more of a better safe than sorry. It is more or less a disciplined religion, but also promotes peace and tranquility if presented properly, unlike what the media shows you.
Christianity - Refer above but less strict on the rules, need to love God more, crusade againts atheists and spread gospel.
Buddism - Also refer to above but the rules are more flexible and you don't need to worship much, just live in harmony.
Atheism - If you think logicly.

Nobody can prove any gods, much less a specific god, exist; many people will tell you their god exists but no others, but will never be able to prove it, even if they think so. Some will threaten you with eternal pain or promise eternal joy to get you to believe in their god; these are all stories, created for people who were scared long before we understood the universe. Now we have no more reason for these superstitions.
How terrible the bible in particular is:

How silly and horrible religion in general is:

The alternative:

But if you really, really must have one:

Just please, don't pick any of the abrahamic religions.

You'll know if it's right for you if you and the religion click! No one can really pick one for you! Go through whichever religions interest you and see which one you like in the end!

Having equipped with your brain, you can differentiate what is right and what is wrong. Do only what is right. Why do you need relegion. Having the sense of analysis, reasoning and justification, why do you need some concept to take the right path. Believe in self, try to bring out your good values. God is god only because of his good values. You also have it in you but just over shadowed by your vices and ignorance. Remove vices and ignorance and acheive the religion of self god.

The only right religion for anyone is the one founded by Jesus Christ himself, the Son of God. That happens to be the Catholic Church. It is the only Church that can prove a direct line of succession from Jesus Christ to St. Peter up to the present pope. All other Churches were founded by human beings.
Have a blessed and peaceful day

Try the Belief-O-Matic quiz at Beliefnet.com:
http://www.beliefnet.com/story/76/story_7665_1.html
It's a good site in general for exploring and talking with people of different faiths.
Another good site with relatively objective articles on a wide variety of religions:
http://www.religioustolerance.org
I won't presume to tell you which religion is right for you -- in my opinion, all of them are paths to the Divine, and the choice of religion is a matter of personal preference and finding one that resonates for you and makes sense to you. I do wish you the best of luck on your journey!

Do your research. Find out about different religons, compare and contrast. Shop around. Then consider no religion as an option as well. Then figure out which option is the correct match for you.

What is false religion?
Why does religion seem to be at the root of so many problems?
The fault lies, not with all religion, but with “false” religion.
False Religion...MEDDLES IN WAR AND POLITICS: How many religions can you think of whose members engage in war?
False Religion...SPREADS FALSE DOCTRINE: Most religions teach that the soul or spirit is some invisible part of a human that survives the death of the physical body. However, the Bible teaches a different doctrine. “The soul that is sinning, it itself will die.” Ezekiel 18:4 Jesus taught that the dead will be resurrected, an unnecessary action if humans had an immortal soul. Does your religion teach that the soul does not die?
False Religion...TOLERATES IMMORAL SEX: Church groups ordain gay and lesbian members of the clergy. What, though, does the Bible teach? It plainly states: “Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men.” 1 Cor. 6:9,10 Do you know of religions that condone immoral sex?
How to identify true religion.
True Religion...PRACTICES LOVE: True worshippers are “no part of the world,” are not divided by race or culture, and display “love among themselves.” Rather than killing one another, they are willing to die for one another.
True Religion...TRUSTS GOD'S WORD: Instead of teaching “tradition” and “commands of men as doctrines,” true religion bases its doctrine on God's Word, the Bible
True Religion...STRENGTHENS FAMILIES AND UPHOLDS HIGH MORAL STANDARDS: True religion trains husbands to “love their wives as their own bodies,” helps wives to develop “deep respect for their husbands,” and teaches children to “be obedient to their parents.”
True Religion is available, search for it.
