i myself sometimes feel the same way, many different reasons so if nothing in yor answers go talk to doctor.I fel depressed by the way things happen in my life or even the same day.Are you afraid of the dark maybe? Do you worry about today tommorw, ect? Anixitey can be one of the reasons. You may suffer from deppression and,or have an anixtey disorder.Which please don't feel afraid of my saying that.I suffer from panic, anixtey disorder Isometimes can't get my mind to stop thinking off almost any thing usually there things that really have no purpose,Why do you think you feel like that way? I'm not sure how old you are but peer pressure, bullies, worried about parents arguing at night,Or if your in preteens believe or not hormones may even be the cause. What ever the case may seeking medcial attention may be the right answer they can ask you questions and if your honest about the answer you reply and don't be embarrassed by anything you need to talk about. If you hide behind fears of who you are then some day they may growup with you.I TRULY hope I have'nt caused you more stress but PLEASE give yourself you're own truth if nothing else and in time you may have an all important peaceful night.I'll pray for you also I find prayer has help me not fear i have cancer.Infact I don't understand why but I have felt better mentaly, physicaly then i had in a long time yesterday was my frist chemo treatment im am a little scared and depressed only because of I think to many different way things may happen. It's a waste of good time only when im finished will I know and what may happen only GOD knows,Sorry so grim of answer but i v'e tried to give you many ways to think of thoughts to ponder there is no one answer for anything almost.Believe In Yourself....Believe In You're God...., and maybe prayer an option? Maybe because you do a lot of things and so you have other stuff in mind but when night comes and it's time to sleep you begin to remember the things that are troubling you so it's the time that you think of it more that's why you're uneasy and as you say "jumpy and depressed". Or you might be a workaholic who has a mindset of being busy is the way to success that's when your not doing a lot of things, you feel that your not doing something important and your eager to be busy again and work your butt off in the morning...
I don't know you personally, so im only assuming of the probable reason/s why you feel that way. And with many posted answers here I hope we're (somehow...) able to help you with that question...

Hello. There could be serveral reasons, but barring anything wrong with your diet, I would suggest that something is kicking in and night is when this occurs. Like something is getting restimulated or brought into focus and of course, if you did know what it was exactly then it wouldn't have you reacting to it. So the point is you do not know and you need t find out and you need to find out for yourself. And the very best way to do that is to go to a Dianetics Center (also listed under the Church of Scientology) and ask for a Dianetics session. This way you will find the real answer, your answer to this. If you go to a "professional", like a psychologist you will only end up either a)with their answer or b)on a mind altering drug.
Find your own answer because the truth is only you really know and someone trained in Dianetics can guide you to find that reason.
Best regards.

I think u have some bad experience that effected u in such a way that u become deppressed when it is dark.Well, darkness has that kind of effect, becuz darkness hides many things in itself ,the things that we can see very clear in the day light.I am scared in the night too, becuz in the dark ugly things came into my mind and I like dark when I am sad or depressed.I think it happens so,there are somethings that effect our mood.

Coz you're tired. Have a relaxing bath, wind down, drink chamomile tea, make sure your bed's all cosy and if your mind starts racing remember you can sort it all out in the morning, then switch off and get some sleep.

Maybe you dont react well to the time of day because A.It is dark outside and B.Everyone is sleep. If you are not tired during this time and there is no one around to entertain you it may give you time to reflect on things you'd rather not face.

are you alone, or maybe something that happened when you were a child that was a very bad experience could have happened at night, and you associate it with that, or maybe you have repressed something and it surfaces at night...because you never came to turns with it or you like i said repressed it....check back into your child hood, was there a fire, a death, or maybe you could have witness a argument between your parents, or maybe you were attacked or molested(God forbid) or maybe you were just afraid of the dark as a child and never really got over it, it could be anything....investigate yourself..see what comes up

I think, in my opinion, at night is when we take the time to think the most. It's our alone time to ourselves, while throughout the day we do not take the time to think specifically on certain issues bothering us. Plus, there are multiple distractions.
