Aus Immigration Having baby with foreigner can he come to Australia to live?
I am almost 3 months pregnant (I am Australian) with a Argentinan man who I am marrying next month, we have been together performing in Mexico in a big show for over a year as partners. I am moving back to Australia to have the baby, does anyone know about the immigration laws, and if he can become a resident easily, if so how long can it take? will he be allowed to come for the birth of my baby? I love him so much and I want my baby to have it's father close, but I also must be close and live in Australia close to my family... What are my options, does or has anyone been in this situation, what did you have to do?

Thanks

hehe what "big show"???? Are you carnies? And he should be able to be there for the birth- unless aussies have some new rule that states unless you are a resident you aren't allowed into the country anymore!

if you are so set on being in austrailia and living there with your f'close' family- how the heck are you managing to live in mexico for the past year?????

just because you are married and pregnant does not give him immediate right to aussie residency... so he may have to leave the country regularly and reenter until he gains residency.... I had a canadian friend who has a child to an Aussie woman and he has to leave Aus regularly...
