I just took both,...

The Percocet is a Prescription,.. it's just they pumped me full of pain meds and that didn't take care of this one thing when I wa sin the hospital. We (me, my mom, nurses, and friends) are thinking I tore/damaged some muscles. So I thought I would take Asprain to see if an Anti Inflamatory would help.

It has, but I would like to know if this is safe or if there is anything I should be aware of.

Percocet is an opiate analgesic {painkiller}; its active ingredients are oxycodone {an schedule II controlled substance, i.e. one that's prescribed for relief of moderate to moderately severe pain and has a big potential of causing chemical dependence if taken for more time or in dosages greater than those that were prescribed} and acetaminophen. None of the ingredients in Percocet is an antinflammatory; if your pain is due to muscular inflammation, it will temporarily provide some degree of pain relief but won't treat the underlying cause of your pain. You may alternate it with aspirin or ibuprofen {Advil, Motrin}; either of these will help ease pain due to torn/inflamed muscles. You should be cautious using aspirin or ibuprofen if you have recently undergone surgery or given birth because of potential bleeding problems, or if you have kidney or liver disease.

yes, its safe

percocet is an Oxycodone

Oxycodones and asprin are commonly bundled together as pain killers

"The combination of oxycodone and aspirin is used to relieve moderate to moderately severe pain. Oxycodone is in a class of medications called narcotic analgesics. Aspirin is in a class of medications called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agents (NSAIDs). Oxycodone works by changing the way the brain and nervous system respond to pain. Aspirin works by decreasing pain messages received by the brain."

hope it helps

Yes you can take it with Percocet but a better choice would be ibuprofen or naproxen in prescription dosage.

there is no aspirin in percocet, so sure. there is tylenol in your percocet, so don't take tylenol with your percocet.
