<>Night sweats (nocturnal hyperhydrosis) can be caused by a variety of things, some serious. Does you husband wake up frequently or seem to have major changes in his breathing pattern at night? He could have sleep apnea. You don't say how old he is but, especially if he has other symptoms with the sweating, he should talk to a doctor. Following are some of the problems that could be connected to the condition:

Lots of serious illness's can cause night sweats. I mean lots. Cancers, lymphoma, Lung Cancer ,Tuberculosis, heart problems, diabetes, medications, viagra, tylenol. Menopause, I know that sounds crazy for a guy, but it's possible he produces too much estrogen. My husband sweats terribly, but my room is about 85 degrees and sleeps with a down comforter. Blood Pressure meds, or an infection. There's lots of causes but he may want to see a doctor especially if he feels different at all, has a horse voice (could mean tumor on vocal cord). Strokes. Hepatitis, should I go on?
