There is no better place to start than being friends. Moving to fast can destroy a relationship before it has a chance to begin. I speak from experience. I moved way to quick with a beatiful lady and it became ugly. We have gotten passed that and are know friends and it could take a long time to mend the original hurt. No harm in falling in love with your friend and like most of the answerers its the best thing to happen. Of course some of them get married but others just carry on being good friends for life without having physical relationship and will keep loving them.
