I always see my mother taking out her dentures when she's goes to sleep. She said this is to avoide accidentally swallowing the dentures during sleep.

No many people sleep with their dentures in. My dad does. He tried leaving his dentures out overnight once years and years ago (he's had them since he was in his late 20's) and he said it felt like he had a mouth full of you know what when he put them back in the next morning so now he sleeps with them in.

yes
one has to take out dentures at night so that
1. gums can breathe
2, so that gums can be cleaned properly.
3. so that dentures can be cleaned properly.
4.you have to put dentures in water & cleanising tablets to help removal of the sticky food from them.
5. so that dentures can be shinning white.
6. dentures can not be swallowed accidently .
etc. etc.

My dentist told me it's better to take them out for the night, so the gums can relax. Healthier gums. Not because of swallowing the detures.

Also not a good idea to go without the detures during the day, as your mouth will change shape, and then the dentures won't fit right.

Yes you can definitely sleep in them. My dad does and if he did not tell me, I would have never guessed that he even had dentures. And my grandmother had dentures since she was 27 and no one knew she had them except my mom so yeah don't worry about them. As long as you clean them and stuff, you will not have nearly as many problems as other people with their real teeth. My grandmother was so happy and laughed at everyone else who had to deal with tons of dental appointments when she never had to go again. Good luck =)
