try exercising on a regular basis and cutting back on the sodium...(any prepackaged foods..potato chips and the such....and if that doesn't work....do the medication.... medication however should always be the last resort....(only if the other things don't work.) But if your blood pressure is at a dangerous level, then definately do the medication

There are some good answers here.
There is only so much you can do about decreasing your blood pressure as much of it is dependent on genetics.
However, you certainly can decrease it by engaging in healthy practises such as:
1) regular exercise
2) healthy eating, esp: avoiding lots of salt in the diet (mainly sodium)
4) remembering to relax and rest
5) having a healthy spiritual life
Some people despite doing all these still require medication. You need to talk with your local doctor about that.
All the best,

A good natural way to decrease blood pressure is exercise. I know we are all sick of hearing the high blood pressure commercial talking about "diet and exercise" but seriously it helps! Talk to you doctor because there are different factors in high blood pressure and your doctor can give you the best answer.

you can reduce the blood pressure by
a. mediction
b. meditation.
medication everybody tells about it. let me tell u about meditation
meditation need to be purpose ful. Couple it with the breathing exercise. we call it as PRANAYAMA in sanskrit. controll your breath. blood preasure increases/ decreased because of your diet, mental stability and your environment.
have he healthy food that just satisfy your half hunger and sit for breathing exercise.
inhale for 10 continous seconds, hold it for 40 seconds and exhale for 10 seconds.
while inhaling in hale through the left of your nose and while exhale, exhale through right of the nose. and in the next time do it the other way round. inhale through right and exhale through left.
practice this for 15 continous times in morning before taking food, afternoon after taking food and in the night before going to sleep after taking food.
While taking food the main crieteria is that you have to chew the food as if the digestion takes place only in mouth.
This continious practice will reduce blood preassure.
Pl. Note. when ever there is an emotional feeling do not forget to do PRANAYAMA for at least two times. it wil immediately reduce blood preasure. no medication is required no diet. Also remember to take food which will at maximum satisfy 3/4th of your hunger. never take for full stomach.

Drink decoctions made out from the stalks of drumsticks after taking out the leaves, eat curry made of drumstick leaves and consume atleast 400 gms of garlic well cooked with other food. Also walk for half an hour in the morning evening before taking breakfast or dinner. You B.P. should certainly start reducing after one month of the above regimen.
