He's very foolish.

I don't believe for a second he's a coward or a traitor, just a fool. He'll have time to think about his foolishness in prison.

Sadly there are too many who think that he is a hero when all he is is a man who failed to obey a lawful order.
He has tried to say that the war is illegal but congress gave the president the power to go to war and he did.
Now because the Lt. does not want to obey the lawful order he proclaims it is an illegal war and that the orders he has pledged to obey are not lawful.
He is NOT a hero but a loser.

He deserves what he gets. In a volunteer Army you don't sign up unless you are willing to fight for your country. He had no business in the Army to begin with.

It is my sense that he set this whole thing up to try and make a point. I am sure he will have plenty of time to think about his decision in Leavenworth.

I think he's a coward. An officer can NOT pick and choose what war he wants to fight for his country. When the country calls, you respond. He's wrong and should go to prison.

I hope he ends up in a cell with some big black Gunny SGT who has a fondness for little Hawaiian boys.

He is not an honorable man. He took an oath and then spat on it. This will follow him for the rest of his life and his character will forever be questioned.........and rightly so.

He's a hero. People need to realize that the government serves the people, not the other way around. Citizens or Americans no matter what their jobs are entitled to their own opinions and judgment. We have the freedom to dissent. Without dissent, it wouldn't be America.

He is not refusing to serve. He is not even refusing to serve in combat. He is refusing to serve in Iraq.

Why? because the reason he joined, the reason given for invading Iraq, was based on premeditated lies from the administration. He is correct. His "oath / contract" was obtained from him under criminally false statements and intents. He is doing the right thing morally and is willing to pay the price for calling out the administration for what it is. He is doing what the cowards in congress should have done, but didn't have the guts to do.

I think he should have honored his word and his choice to join, and serve out his contract, now he has broken the law and should be punished accordingly.
