Whiskey is the Irish version and Whisky the Scottish. Due to the huge amount of Irish population in the USA so they have adopted this spelling. While Canada which is still part of the commonwealth (British Empire kinda) have the british spelling. Either way, its strong stuff so take care!

BECAUSE THE PERSON WHO WROTE THE DICTIONARY SAMPLED THE STUFF BEFORE HE SPELLED IT. AND IT TOOK HIM TWO TRIES BEFORE HE SPELLED IT CORRECTLY
