Because it would make them question their own faith. If they except other people's religions then it means they have to except that their religion could possible be wrong or flawed. In my opinion its fear in the end that unfortunately prevents most things. In my opinion God is everything and everywhere . Simply that the core of all religions are the basically the same but they choose to focus on the minute differences and describe that as their religion. Like use an elephant as a good visual-- You have a different religion at each part of the animal-- Jewish faith trunk -- catholics-- ears, and so forth and everyone can see only their part and nothing else. But if you take a step back and look you can see that its all God and each religion has its place and purpose and if you recognize that it doesn't take away what you have it just gives you more ways to understand and relate to one another. if that could happen then I think we could start getting along. But unfortunately tradition and fear generally win out over logic...

The day is coming - we see the signs every day, in my opinion. More and more i see the signs of tolerance and human unity. Religion is a personal thing that belongs in the home, heart and place of worship only. It simply should reside in the Private Sphere of life and not be an issue. As humans mature, so will their attitudes and understandings. Thoughts become things my friend! Keep picking the good ones!
Peace!

I'm friends with all sorts of people, both religious and non-religious.
I think it's human nature, though. If it's not religion, it's politics. It could be anything where differing opinions come in contact with each other.

Determining another's worth as a human being should have nothing to do with their religious convictions. It should be about what they bring to society, the world and to the friendship. Religion is a personal choice -- nothing more, nothing less.

It'd be nice if everyone could get along...Unfortunately since conformity is expected by those who are fanatical in their beliefs we are doomed to continuously argue over who's perception of religion is the best. PEACE!
