Because statistically I'd have a higher chance of either injuring myself, or someone else who is innocent than actually preventing any crime... Suppose I see some guy sticking up a bank- what am I going to do about it? If I do nothing he probably will just take the money and leave, but if I start shooting at him I am liable to hit someone else who I wasn't aiming at, or he is liable to shoot back at me and hit either me or someone else.

Some people can be just straight up bully's, but rarely does it ever come to a life and death situation like it would if you were packing heat.

That's the great thing about our country: the Second Amendment gives us the choice to carry a gun. I stress the word choice. Some people are not so inclined, and some are. Those of both followings should respect the rights of the other.
Personally I do, not just because of my job, but because I choose to do so.

You are more likely to injure someone with a gun if you have a gun, thus I don't want to carry a gun. Also, I don't want to deal with the permit and the upkeep on the gun and all.

Never really felt the need to.
I live in Seattle.
I take public transportation.

I think if I lived out in some wider open place and had to drive 50 miles to get to one place and 100 miles to get to another and there were long stretches of road where anything can happen with no witnesses then I think I would be more inclined to carry a weapon....

Like to be able to get one if I wanted one though.

Because in California it's a SoB & near impossible to get a license to carry one.

When it comes to firearm laws, California is FTL. When it comes to almost everything else, California is FTW!
