Nothing is wrong with you, just could have jitters/ anxiety when in front of a crowd. I get like that too and there is not much to do accept picture someone naked or if you get like that around a large group, could be anxiety, in that case you could talk to your parents and/or a family physician that can give you the right tools and medications to help ease it. Good luck

It's called performance anxiety, and some great entertainers who have made their living by singing or speaking in front of live audiences suffer from it too. I believe there are various internal tricks to get over this (one of them is, yes, imagining the audience naked, but because you're a teenager, that might do you more harm than good!), and I'm sure if you Google "stage fright" or "performance anxiety" you'll find some good support sites with advice.

As long as you know what you're talking about, or perhaps practice the reading aloud before having to do it, you'll get stronger every time you make yourself "perform." Good luck!

I can totally relate to how you feel, the exact thing happened to me when I was in school and actually got a 2-day suspension after being sent to the dean's office because I refused to read aloud in class. I was also well liked with my classmates. I could not figure out why I would rather get suspended than read aloud.
When I entered High School, I took a speech class, hoping that it would help and it did. I also began to be the first to answer question or to be called upon. Try it..Good luck

Yes this is very normal. It is different when you get in front of a crowd, but the more you do it, the easier it becomes. The trouble is its not something you do often. My friends talked me into doing karaoke once in their music room, I felt fine and comfortable around them after awhile, but later when they played at a club and talked me into singing my knees actually were shaking, even though I knew the song well! The more I did it though the easier it got. Keep trying though, I was very shy as a child and would not have imagined in a million years I would sing in front of my friends, let alone a crowd..You dont sound shy, so speaking in front of crowds should be easier for you if you do it often.

You know what your problem is man? confidence, don't beat yourself up you seem like a cool, and decent person. Relax, and chill out, also do not get so conscious about yourself, and worry about what people think just do your thing, and enjoy yourself. It will all be all right. Peace babe.

relax !
I have the same problem.. Its anxiety and nerves..
When you have to do it - practice deep breathing - think of something funny or relaxing just before . try taking a drink up with you too so you can take small sips while your talking
