Railroad employment has always been a coveted profession, so the carriers of today have the luxury of being able to select the cream of the crop.

Write a resume and start knocking on doors, virtual or real. If by chance you can't leave the booze or drugs alone, then you have little chance at all. Barring this, if one is intellegent and with at least a high school diploma, you have as good a chance as any to get on a seniority roster.

Good luck.
