I believe that we occupied (not liberated, as the administration would like you to believe) Iraq and have made a messy situation of it. We aren't fighting there trying to find WMDs anymore, we're trying to control the insurgencies (the fighting between the two sects of Islam, the Sunnis and the Shi'ites.)
Here's why I think we're not going to kick in doors in North Korea: because they can fight back. Iraq posed no immediate threat to us, but it was a prime location to give us power in the region. North Korea, if we threaten them too much, can blow us up, to be quite frank. If you've been keeping up with the news, you'll see that the US is choosing a far more bureaucratic method in dealing with N. Korea by imposing sanctions and whatnot, rather than just sending people over to kill and search and take power.

Well consider this, why are military men kicking in doors? They aren't doing it just to be *****. They are searching houses for weapon cliches and materials used in making improvised explosion devices. They kick the doors down for the element of surprise so the iraqi's who are guilty cant make a run for it. After any military member destroys one of the Iraqi's personal property, the Iraqi's get reimbursed for it. So that means that when we kick in doors, and don't find anything, we pay them money to repair everything. Terrorists are still at large in Iraq and thats what they're looking for, TERRORISTS are the people who set of bombs in the middle of a crowded market and kill hundreds. Which one sounds more of an inconvience to you? Kicked in door and scared, or getting blown up because your a sunni or shiite? I sure as hell didn't see Al Qaeda reimburse the US for all the buildings they've blown up. Iraq the country may have not done the attacks on 9/11 but the country has terrorists in it who could possibly pull off something more devastating than the attacks on 9/11.

War is not pleasant and fighting it is even worse. If the Iraqi's would take a little more responsibility for the freedom of their own country we wouldn't have to do these things.
What would you rather have though? Some Americans who kick in your door and search your home, or some idiot who straps 50 pounds of explosives to his torso and blows himself up at a school were children are playing?
We kick in doors to find these homicidal idiots because so many Iraqi people are not willing to route them out themselves. Kicking in doors and scaring people is saving lives and anyone who can't figure that out is simply not paying attention.
<> So what are you saying? Kicking in doors is o.k. sometimes?

We've definitely decided that Iraq was not the cause of 9-11.
Bush is trying to salvage the disaster. What else can we do? Leave them to total anarchy? That's not neccessarily smart, either.
I think terrorizing civilians is wrong. The troops are only following orders, for the most part, and you have to understand that they do not act out of their own conscience. They do what they are told, or they face horrid consequences. They've sold their souls to the government (and no, not all of them did it because they wanted to--my hubby didn't have the training for a decent civilian job and needed to support our family).
It's very sad, and I'm sorry to the civilians that are being scared. It's got to be awful.

Only according to treason master John Kerry and other would be communist senators of the far left . Americans know who terrorists are and who threatened to blow us off the map. Americans know who attacked us on our soil and took the lives of thousands who were not bothering anybody - they were just going about their day when they were blown to smithereens, Apparently , to some- like the Clinton's ; Kerry's ;Sen Kennedy ; Sen Reid ; Pelosi ...they would rather stick up for terror than have a Republican in the White House stick up for freedom & democracy . When was the last time you heard a liberal democrat speak out against those who kidnap & behead people ? Instead for 3months or more we had to hear how a few terrorist were humiliated at abu Grabbe . To listen to the drive-by liberal media , you'd think they were calling for our Troops to let the prisoners go so they could get on with their attrocities . If Ted "the swimmer" Kennedy isn't a terrorist - explain why he was sticking up for a "religious" terrorist leader in Iraq , who was calling for more blood shed of our troops & coalition forces ?

Well, they'd be terrorists if they were "kicking in doors" for the sole purpose of causing terror for the occupants. They're not. I can tell you that the type of action inherent with urban warfare. (door kicking as you call it.) is among the most dangerous, and nerve wracking action imagineable. You NEVER know what's on the other side of that door. That's why they're going for SURPRISE, not fear; and it's done so because they think there's a good chance an evil man with guns is on the other side hoping to kill people like yourself.

If the Iraqi people would just say Thank You to the Americans for getting rid of the son of a ***** that was running their country then we wouldn't have to kick in doors. Instead of being grateful for what we did though, they want to continue to act like dumbasses and use car bombs and kill innocent people for no reason. I would rather have Americans kick in my door and make sure I am not going to blow anything up than go shopping in downtown Baghdad and get blown up because the Americans didn't kick in the door of the guy with the bombs.

you need to check your sources. The military doesn't just kick down random doors. If the military is knocking at your door there is a good reason for them to kick it down. I have read several of your lame brained posts, and technically you are considered an "enemy", the soldiers in the Military take an oath to protect against all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC, so by that and your pointless ramblings, shouldnt' they be knocking down your door by now?

YES. America is is staying there for the following reasons:
1. This president will not want to be known as the one who withdrew troops from Iraq.
2. OIL & loot in the form of contracts ( All infrastructure needs reconstruction now )
3. Will not pull out till they have militarily weakened Iran.
Even though Iraqis are suffering , one consolation is there. The Empire is in decline . It is slowly bleeding to its death in Iraq. The allies are deserting US. UK will be there till bliar is PM but apparently he is going to be out of that job soon. 'international coalition' is a joke now. If they play with Iran , the west will suffer a lot and will accelerate the ruin of the arrogant america.
