An act begins with a thought that one takes action on. As the act is repeated it becomes a habit. A habit is then a character trait. Character traits dictate decisions that we make daily in our lives, and thus make our future. It's a version of some versus in the New Testament.

The first verse might means that if you think of something, apparently it'll be turn out as an action to your decision. Second verse might mean your actions can turn out to be a regular habit -- might be good or bad. Third verse, your habit can distinguish yourself as a unique person in terms of character. Apparently, this quote descibes more on how a man's destiny can be written due to his first thoughts/aims/dreams.

We can apply this quote to any person at the street. Let say a desperate man thought of stealing to feed his family. Because of that desperate thought, he made his mind to embazzle money from the company (action). After his first steal, without getting caught, he decided to try again and continue embazzling again... and again. It now turned into a habit. He realised that his no one knows of his actions, and so he is not afraid to continue his habit. This habit had changed him from an honest man to a greedy one. So in the end, because of his greed, he was finally caught by the mangement and spent his time in jail (his destiny).

If I have the thought that I want to be cool, and someone tells me pot will make me that way, I'll do pot. Then I'll do it again and again (remember, I'm getting 'cooler and cooler'). Now I have a habit.

My habit leads to me be involved with the illegal drug culture. I start dressing, speaking, moving, and acting like them. I quit my job because it's not 'cool'. I hang with them until everything they do is 'cool' to me - lying, theft, violence. Do you have a good picture of my character?
