I realize that there are cultural differences, especially when it comes to gender roles and relationships. I have ony been out with this guy once, and am just curious as to what I may expect. His parents are from the Middle East, and he moved here when he was a boy. We haven't really discussed his upbringing. Does anybody have any general advice, either from being middle eastern or dating someone who is?

It depends which country since each has their own unique culture. I am assuming he may be a Muslim? Education is a priority as well as having a good career. It is very important to respect the family name. That means no doing stupid stuff or anything that will get back to the family and embarrass them. In Muslim culture, the guy's family pays for wedding. But then again, it's important that they like you and respect you.

though i have never dated one, i work with 1000's of them. i have bonded greatly with many in the process. i find that they are very easy to talk to and in relationships {which has been the topic of conversation on many instances lol} they prefer an honest & open communication. they understand the different issue completely. so just try talking to him straight forward & be 100% honest in it!

they are strict bfs, i am one...depending on faith he might follow or not...i dont so i am very laid back...some of them might follow the religion and might abide by the religion, some of them dont. i usually like commitment and im moderately strict and i like a chick that will be there for me and take care of me but other than that it will vary on the person so u might wanna find out more bout him.

You're likely to end up married to your lord and master, who answers to nobody except God and his parents.
