Hi Lyisha...also consider either Petfinder http://www.petfinder.com or your local Chicago Craigslist: http://chicago.craigslist.org/pet/ . People post ads for free or low adoption fee pets on Craigslist every minute on a daily basis so please be sure to check back often.

They have lots of cats of all ages, colors and kinds. It is where I got my cat, Aurora. All the animals are healthy and well taken care of there.

Look for local shelters in your area in the phone book (Yellow Pages), or call the local Petsmart. They should know and many partner with local shelters in adopting out cats.

go to the pound. did you know in Chicago you can adopt a pet and as long as you have your pet fixed you can go once a month and get free pet food from them?
