For Christians, it means God reconsiling with man. and love and salvation.

For the Jehovahs Witnesses, they view it as a form of torture and actually believe he was killed on a Stake.

For any other religion, I would say its insignificant.

In Hinduism, there are no crosses.
In Muslim, there are no crosses.
In Jew, there is are no crosses.
In Buddhism, there are no crosses
In Taoism, there are no crosses
..... etc etc etc .......

A better question might be ..... what are the difference in crosses for different denomination of Christianity. (JFI ...... Christianity is not the only religion in the world)

Catholics use a crucifix, which means the cross shows Jesus on it. This is used to show that Jesus died for our sins.

Protestants use just a cross, without Jesus on it. This is because Protestants think it's less important that Jesus died, and more important that he overcame death in the resurrection.

a very vague question. but in christainity it has to do with the sacrifice. in others like voodoo, it has to do with a crossing of spiritual lines, etc. try math. thomas
