2 John 1:7 "Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist."

There isn't just one antichrist, there are many. However, it is written that the antichrist will proclaim himself to be God. As no government has presently done so, it stands to reason that they don't quite fit the bill. Yet.

The idea of government is the antichrist not neccesarily the people. The idea of a group of individuals always judging and criticizing a group of people, always making ruling godly decisions is antichrist. Because they do exactly what christ does not want you to do. Initially our government was built on the words of God. Over time the wordly ways (the reasons people migrated here) came to america as well and now we have found inescapable therefore the end times are coming.

hey pinky t. this is a dangerous question to answer in cyberspace. Here goes. the anti in AntiChrist means "instead of" or i.e. instead of christ. this AntiChrist that will be here will be Satan pretending to be christ. So the Antichrist is not an establishment but is a spiritual entity. The whole world will whore after Satan thinking he is Christ and every kindred tongue and nation will go after the Jews because of him. Satan has been hunting them from the beginning. How will you know the real Christ from the phony? answer- Christ said that if you have to be told that he is here then he isn't. " just as the lightning flashes in the east it will also be seen in the west. So if someone has to have satellite to see him in the world ,again it is not him because we will all see him AT ONCE !!!

Is your question nonsense explain?

How can a Government be an Antichrist (at least if I understand what the antichrist is in Christian mythology/theology)?

Is this another of those "America is picking on Christians" questions?

You people have a fundamentalist whack job in the white house. He's made supreme court appointments of equally insane religious nut jobs.

You've managed to change how text books are written to better reflect your mythology.

How could this all be done if you weren't in the driver seat?

This is a Christian nation in terms of its population. Not all of them are insane fundamentalists...but they seem to be gaining ground.

From what I have read so far, the Antichrist is satan in the form of a man.

Religion is the ultimate tool of evil as it is the underlying cause of more death and war than any other force on this planet. Government is another form of religion. Spirituality is not religion.

If there really is an Anti Christ than it would be the conglomeration of fools who blindly follow any form of religion.

hmm.... its hard to say what it is...i would think it's much more obeying the religious upbringings and followings that are emphasized so strongly in american culture today... it's like they're wrking for the religious rights, not against it, ya know? cause they base much of their political input on the fanatical evangelists...and it sucks..

No. It doesn't preach against Christ, doesn't replace him, and it actually allows us to have the freedom of religion. If it were, I think it wouldn't allow us to believe anything but what it wants us to believe.
