First, who the hell cares what some punk 16-year-old thinks about you. The only person who should critique your body weight is YOU.
Second, if you want to LOSE 40lbs, set a target date. They say the healthiest amount of weight to lose is 2-3 pounds per week (give or take a pound). That's it. Anything above that, and you'll balloon back up and then some once you stop exercising thinking that you've conquered your weight problem.
Third, losing weight requires a drastic lifestyle change, like going to the gym regularly. I lost 12 pounds in three weeks (yeah, I know, that's a little bit contrary to what I just said about healthy weight loss, but it just happened). All I did was cut fast food out of my diet and hit the gym for two hours straight with the emphasis on cardio. Now, at 16, I don't know if you're eligible to get a gym membership, so I suggest you try out for as many sports teams as you can get your hands on. Don't think about what people will say and especially don't think about making the team (it'll just lower your self-esteem just IN CASE you don't make it). Your goal should be just to get out, move around, exercise, and HAVE FUN. If you do that, you'll be surprised by how much pounds you've shed if you do that in June.
Good luck.

Ok first off anyone considering a size 3 over weight is sadly mistaken, size will be different on everyone because no one person is made or built the same. Im a pesonal trainer and I would like to advise you not to go overboard on this, you need to learn the correct way and incorrect way to lose weight. There is such thing as losing weight to fast as well. You say your 16, but you dont say how tall you are, what weight you are now, what kind of build you are. These are all important things when figuring out how much you need to lose. I have consulted many teens in my profession and 95% of them all think they are too fat, or too big, and they all think this because of certain individuals at their school. I would suggest maybe consulting with a personal trainer in your area, many trainers will give you free advice or a free consult. Just remember you dont have to be a size 3 to look good.

I highly doubt that anything bigger than size 3 is "fat." I, myself, am 18 and a size 7 (not juniors) and proud. You don't necessarily have to lose weight to be considered attractive. Try doing something new with your makeup, like getting a makeover. Or you could try changing your clothing style. Sometimes people just don't wear clothes that are flattering to their figures.
If it seems like your weight is causing guys to not like you, then obviously they are not mature enough for you. This is high school, after all. Most people at that age are highly superficial. Remember, once you get past high school, people are not nearly as shallow.
If you're set on the idea of losing weight, I would not recommend your goal of 40 pounds. That is highly unrealistic, and the only way you will be able to succeed in losing that much weight healthily is through years of dieting. If you're looking for a quick fix, do not resort to fasting or purging, as you'll quickly succumb to a nasty eating disorder.
I suggest setting a modest goal of 5 or 10 pounds. Sure, it doesn't seem like much, but it will be noticeable, and you will definitely feel better about yourself.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

First of all, being over a juniors 3 does NOT make you fat. Every person has a total different body frame. See a doctor before going to the extremes about your size. The doctor may be able to measure your actual body fat percentage. You can't always go by the Body Mass Index (BMI) factor. By the BMI, my husband should weigh between 170-180 pounds. He is 6 feet and 257 pounds and has a very low fat index. He is mostly muscle. He is just a very large man. He can't lose weight without losing muscle mass. He has worked out since he was 12 years old. People called him fat in school because he was taller and twice the size of everyone. His muscles kept growing. He was not fat.
Being smaller than a size 3 does not make you healthy. My 30 year old sister was convinced this in school and she she struggles to stay below a size 3. She has the most health problems because of this childish belief.
My advise is ignore what everyone is saying. Love yourself and take care of your body, but don't abuse it by starving yourself to death. You don't have to be skin and bones to be beautiful. Some of your most beautiful actresses are size 10-12:
Angelina Jolia, Beyonce, Jamie Lee Curtis, ect.

First off, check your BMI. Would you be underweight if you lost 40 pounds? If so, reevaluate your plan. I also suggest talking to your doctor about this first.
I'm almost sixteen, too, and I know exactly how you feel...however, you should only plan on losing weight if you're doing so to become healthier. Don't do it just so that you can fit into a size three.
If you're planning on losing the weight fast (which you really should NOT do - seriously), you have a possibility of really messing up your period... If you really want to go through with this, just cut out soda, chips, candy, fast food, and, if you eat meat, stick to lean meat. Eat well proportioned meals (if you're really serious about this, consider becoming vegetarian, if you aren't already, though still eat everything from the pyramid), and exercise in moderation daily.
Just a note...skipping meals slows down the metabolism, so whatever you do, do NOT do that.

First, how do people know what size you wear? Do you compare labels? Don't they realize that numbers don't mean anything? I have sizes from 6 to 10, and they all fit.
The important thing is to be healthy.
I've recently lost 80 lbs (210 - 130), and because I lost it slowly (2-3 lbs/week), I've had no loose, flappy skin. If you lose weight quickly, you will have loose skin. Just eat healthy food, exercise and drink enough water. You'll be fine. Leave the size 3's for the starving Hollywood starlets.

You didn't tell us your measurements.
I'm 167cm tall, and used to weigh 76kg.
Over the last 2 years, I lost 14kg. Through jogging and watching what and when I eat. I jog every morning from 6am to 7am. And I try not to eat after 6pm. It wasn't easy, but after seeing some results and getting positive comments about your weight, you'll be driven to go further. And feel way better and accomplished.
About droopy eyelids i guess it could be your genes, not enough sleep, or too much crying about your weight.
If you lose weight by exercise, you'd defy gravity in all the 'right' places. (bubble *** and perky ****)

Dont go overboard with the weight loss like most people because this is sometimes worse for you than being alittle overweight. You should just try to drop down to your ideal weight. That being said, Your face will most likely look thinner but I dont know about your droopy eyelids.

Oh yes...by all means...let some bunch of 16 year old punks rule your life and make you miserable. After all, life is all about doing what pleases other people...not yourself
If you want to lose the weight of health reasons, that's different. But don't do it just becuse of a bunch of "guys" at your school. In 2-3 years you couldn't care less what those punks think.
Before you try to lose any weight, talk to your doctor about diet, exercise etc. and what your ideal weight range should be.
