I have a Canon PowerShot A610 right now and it seems too bulky to carry around with me. It's a 5mp camera and the image quality is the best I've seen from a digital camera in its class.

I am wondering if I can expect the same picture quality from the Canon PowerShot SD600 6mp camera? I know megapixel doesn't tell you anything about image quality, so will someone with experience with Canon digital cameras please tell me if selling my A610 for a SD600 is worth it?

The SD 600 is a temptation, but the sensor is about half the size of the sensor in the A 610. I don't know what advances may have been made in a couple of years, but I doubt the pictures in the SD 600 would be any better than the A 610. If you want a small camera that has a larger sensor, look into the SD 900. It costs a lot more than the SD 600, but it's still pocket-sized.
