I am a guy who is new in Los Angeles and looking to build a circle of friends. Some of the people I am meeting online are women that are interested in dating. I don't want to rule out dating, afterall if we like each other as friends more could develop, but I really don't want to start dating until I have some friends first. How can I make friends and keep options open without messing everything up?

Go to the gym, take classes, take up a hobby that is social...
