do i just need B.C. ID or do i need a passport as well??

According to the new law, you need a passport if you fly, but it will not be required for driving until next year. See the following:

I think the laws just changed 2 weeks ago. You need a passport to enter the U.S. if you fly. Driving? Not sure.

Apparantly the rules have changed and everyone needs an updated passport to get in the States now. Better get in line.

Iam not sure. I went to canada a few years ago and they didnt need a passport, but they change there rules a lot.

Usually a birth certificate and ID will do.
