This largely depends on the person, and the severity of the cut. The myth could be relatable to the fact that palms and other parts of the hand often have calluses. Thus, a cut that seems very deep, may be rather shallow and unlikely to leave a scar.

However, it is completely possible for a scar to appear in the palm, or anywhere else on the hand, if the cut is severe enough.

No, They do scar

My dad had a really bad hand infection due to a splinter and he had to have surgery on his palm that left a huge scar across his hand.

He would complain alot of times because he was a really big gutiar player that the scar would pain him because it didn't want to streach when he was using his hand.

Also you can get scars on your fingers too. I have one *where my finger print should be* on my right index finger...I got it when I was cutting something and I accidently cut my finger..The scar has been there every since it healed. So, I got a more unique finger print lol.

NOT True-why would it not- skin cut too deep no matter where will scar unless sewed-----I have a scar on the palm of my hand where knife slipped when I attempted to cut apple when I was approx 5-6 yrs of age.If you are a cutter find someone to talk to for feelings can be expressed in more healthy and less disfiguring way but often takes therapy to accomplish this.Talk to someone you trust, that cares about you and together find help for eventually cutting is discovered cannot hide it forever

It depend son the depth of the scarring and the type of injury sustained.
If it is an accident with a sharp tool/ knife or deep burn then more than likely there will be a long term scar, it may fade in time though.
If the event was not as severe then the amount/ rate at wich the skin cells on the palms of the hands, given the use we have of our hands that is....the damage will most likely not be noticed in time.

if its on the hands, it will scar.. if its in the palms, it will but would have seriously visible scars if it was a serious cut. I've had a couple of cuts here and there but no scars.

Well i do know that cuts on the back of the hand do scar. Now with the palms, you can't see the scar , because of the line in the palms you can hardley tell if the hand is scared.

no its not. cuts on the hand depending on the size and how deep it is will leave some kind of mark, i work with my hands all day and i have to say I've had some small cuts and they scared but then I've had some deep cut and they barley left a mark. so if you have a cut on your hand then the advice that i have for you would be try to keep the cut as clean as you can
